Emeritus Prof Tan Yock Lin, a NUS law professor, was killed in a traffic accident on 7 July 2023 along Upper Thomson Road when a lorry, driven by Indian national Natarajan Mohanraj, crossed the road divider and crashed into Prof Tan's car. Natarajan was using his mobile phone and not paying attention to the road at that time.
