Summary:
1. Sinkieland was the most anti-CCP China just after independence and ASEAN was formed.
2. Deng Xiao-Peng opened up China and Sinkieland immediately became the first to rush to make friend with CCP.
3. Sinkieland try to play two headed snake.
4. Sinkieland try to delay competition with China by delaying Shanghai's rise as an international shipping hub by investing in Tianjin to compete against Shanghai.
5. Now quite obvious Shanghai will be competing outright with Sinkieland. LKY/LHL balls shrinking.
6. Sinkieland encourage US to be back in Asia starting in 2008. LKY personally advocate this. Sinkieland is building a huge port (Changi) to support US naval encirclement of China.
7. LHL now become the leading Advocate of the South China Sea encirclement strategy building the plan with Obama and Hillary Clinton.
8. LHL has been actively executing many official or non-official engagements to raise South China Sea territory issues.
9. LHL quite tulan Obama in the last meeting when the blackie appeared indecisive.
10. LHL's strategy was wholesale taught by LKY. LKY/LHL led Sinkieland is a small dot but tries to be an international power.
11. LKY/LHL strategy to keep Singapore "survive" is the on being centre of trade backed by Anglo-US interests. Unfortunately it is now being threatened by US losing steam/interest in this region, and the bulk of trade (flowing to China) will bypass Singapore (through ports in Karachi, Malaysia, Burma and ultimately Shanghai).
Point 10 explains why LHL so hysterical about recent developments with US seemingly moving out of the region, losing its influence on its neighbours in ASEAN, losing economic importance.
