BY HYPE DESKJUNE 3, 2023
When visiting a zoo, you would come across a wide variety of animals from different species and countries. One can actually learn a lot about animals from a zoo- whether it’s a panda’s eating habits or the nocturnal life of a leopard, a zoo offers both entertainment and education. The zoo is supposed to be a home for wild and domestic animals, a place where they are cared for and displayed to the public. Humans are not supposed to be in the picture, unless it’s the zookeepers or staff workers. However, a netizen’s encounter with what seemed to be a human disguised as a gorilla at a zoo in China spoke otherwise. This encounter went viral and caught the attention of many netizens online.

During the netizen’s trip to a zoo in Jiangsu, China, they came across a rather weird-looking gorilla. Not only did that gorilla walked about on two legs, some of its movements were way too humanlike to be an animal.
There was even a point where it was caught sitting cross-legged, like exactly how a human sits!
Upon seeing this sight, visitors were stunned by the behaviours of the ‘gorilla’.
Eventually, visitors figured out that this gorilla in sight was actually a human in a gorilla suit. After the mystery was uncovered, visitors had very split opinions on this. Some were humoured by this human ‘gorilla’, whereas others were displeased that they paid to see this instead of actual animals.

The human in the gorilla suit is supposedly an actor for an interactive program specially prepared by the zoo for visitors. The purpose of this program is just to entertain visitors. The authorities never expected this prank would upset so many people.
“Thank you actors for your hard work on such a hot day! Hope you enjoyed being fooled everyone!” they added.
