In all fairness I would say Obama inherited most if not all the problems rather than he created those problems. It's not an easy job, it'll probably take more than two terms to just fix some of the problems. Get tony tan and the old fart there, they will not survive a day.

Just imagine if the opposition were to win the elections in Spore

They would have to dismantle the Peoples Ass, clear out the overpaid & lazy PAP loyalists from the civil service, reform & divest the GLCs,...etc I don't think they can do it in one term

Yes precisely, the whole system has to be changed and the constitution reviewed. It had been plundered and raped beyond recognition. It's not going to be easy, not only is one term impossible, all papzis has to be purged completely like overthrown dictators which is quite unlikely for a long time to come and not to mention the ceremonial EP put in place for whatever reasons.

All along the Papzis feared and are paranoid when political activists or parties seeks to change the system. They'll never hesitate in putting them down, persecute, brand or label such reformist as radicals and confrontational. He is going in the right direction with budget cuts. However he has so far focused on increasing the amount of money people will get if they work. This will help existing people with jobs but whether it would create additional jobs is to be seen.
