I still don't understand why are Pap, foreigners and pro-FT policy supporters like to compare us to Hong kong, New york, London, Seoul etc etc.. Those are cities. If the inhabitants have had enough of city living, they can go to 2nd tier towns and suburbs.

Singapore is a sovereign state. Where can citizens run to?

With their salaries pegged to the GDP, it is not hard to understand why they cant economic growth at all costs. It has become this country's underlying narrative.

Look at all the National Day Rally speeches, National Day message, public holiday speeches etc. All of them talk about the economy, as if it is the greatest good to pursue.
