A 90% payback means that 10% goes back to the gaming company. Looking at slot machines ONLY for MBS, 10% of SG$3.3b is SG$330 million. We have not even taken a look at OTHER gaming activities. And that's just for the 2nd Quarter only! If one were to take that as an average, a years' takings that goes back to MBS for slot machines ONLY, would be SG$1.332 billion!
Please remember that the money these gaming companies make is from the gamblers and not from some products they sold or service they rendered to customers. This is equivalent to legalized theft. Where have Sinkies benefited?
PAPpies just talk only. Some PAP MPs assured during the debate in Parliament (before the casinos were built), that the social problems related to gambling would be negligible. Look at what is happening now. Some said there would be enough help to aid affected families. Again, look at what is happening now.
Let us also recall how an ex-PAP MP shed croco tears on National TV, trying to wash his hands that he was involved in the decision-making. Here is Lim Boon Heng, trying to explain that there was no group think among PAP members on the decision to have the casino. "Oh no, no, no.... I was against the evil casino. It was the others who made me do it! - Croco tears shedder Ah Heng. Story below.
