But really, Fabio Capello has invited Carrager to consider coming out of retirement to be part of his World Cup squad !
Yeah, the guy is 32 & no spring chicken ...
But what was once considered the Untouchables that prompt our Pool man's frustration & subsequent international retirement has turned somewhat jaded...
Rio - too many sicknotes this season
Terry - adulterer & ex-Cpt season so-so
Ledley King - young, got potential but also injury prone
other injured/recovering/prone... :-
Ashley Cole, Wes Brown, Glen Johnson, Wayne Bridge (ruled himself out)
What about Upson - not that young too
Dawson, Gary Cahill, Lescott, Leighton Baines ? well, inexperienced ...
SO SEEN IN THAT LIKE, spirited old bird Carrager may not be so bad after all ....
I reckon he may accept if only to defuse the bad taste of a Liverpool season ......
