A CAREER criminal who had been to jail 19 times since he was 17 was caught breaking the law yet again, just four days after his latest release from prison. Tan Lian Seng, 59, who is unemployed, pretended to have been hit by a car, hoping for a payout from the driver. Instead, he was thrown in jail yet again yesterday, this time for 10 months..

The courts in sinkieland are really weird in sentencing criminals. When a British banker hantam a taxi driver, he was only given a fine. When a hooligan smashed a beer jug into the face of a fellow drinker, he was not even caned even though the victim was disfigured.

Now, this latest case of a career criminal is not even considered for preventive detention. The guy is a veteran of the prison, going in and coming out like a holiday camp.

He should be put away for a long time but then, if the Govt does not want to feed him, why blame him for seeking devious ways to get easy money?

Preventive detention only for repeat offenders....
