I've driven a car into a lightning storm before. You can see the lightning striking the highway in front but you cannot stop. Thankfully got through safe.

This is usually not covered by insurance and furthermore if your car is parallel imported then you may have extra problems if the people you bought the car from already close shop and the normal dealer dont wanna help your situation.
