if u play any space simulators or mechwarrior,u will know rail guns are huge and bulky and slow firing speed and almost impossible to aim,ur target has to be the size of a dreadnaught or a imperial star destroyer in order to hit it,by then ur enemy would have shred you to pieces with their gatling guns,beam lasers or pulse lasers or guided missiles.
