Taipei, Oct. 11 (CNA) The captain of a research ship which sank off off the outlying county of Penghu in stormy waters Friday night was released on NT$100,000 (US$3,288) bail Saturday.

Huang Yu-fa, the captain of Ocean Researcher V, was questioned by prosecutors in Penghu County in connection with the death of two researchers who were killed in the shipwreck.

All the other 43 people on board were rescued.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
