White supremacism may indeed be a major threat in Canada, but could there be an even greater threat that both the Muslim communities and the government are largely ignoring?

TRENTON, Canada (AA): Following the murder of a caretaker at a Toronto mosque earlier this week, the head of a Muslim organization called Thursday for the government to do more to “eradicate this scourge” of white supremacism in Canada.
Mohamed-Aslim Zafis was stabbed to death Sept. 19 and a suspect is in custody.
While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his condolences and said it was concerning the incident was tied to Neo-Nazism and Islamophobia, words must be followed by action, said National Council for Canadian Muslims (NCCM) Mustafa Farooq in an email to Anadolu Agency.
“We can all stand together and raise our collective voices to demand action,” he said. “We will not stand by as white supremacist groups organize to attack us. I ask you today to join us in demanding that our government do more to eradicate this scourge from our country.”…
“RCMP accuse second Calgary man of travelling to Syria to take part in Islamic State,” Canadian Press, September 25, 2020:
CALGARY — RCMP say they have charged a second Calgary man in an ongoing terrorism investigation.
Thirty-year-old Jamal Taan Borhot is charged with three counts of participating in terrorist group activity.
In July, RCMP announced they had charged Hussein Sobhe Borhot, who is 34, with the same three counts, as well as commission of an offence for a terrorist group.
RCMP spokesman Fraser Logan says there is a “familial relationship” between the two men, but declined to elaborate.
Both Borhots are accused of travelling to Syria in 2013 and 2014 and of taking part in Islamic State activities….
