LHL is PAP current PM and next PM if they won the next GE.

If any voters don't want LHL as PM, they can vote against him in Ang Mo Kio GRC or just vote against PAP in any constituencies. Once PAP are not the ruling party, he won't be PM.

There's no such thing as "the" western system, just as there's no such thing as an Asian system or values. US voters vote for President then he decides who are the ministers (secretaries of departments). The regionally representative congressmen are voted for separately. UK voters vote for their constituency MPs and the party with majority decides who are their PM and ministers from the MPs. The town councillors are voted for seperately. Singapore being so small, many of these are merged or modified or even taken advantage of for gerrymandering purposes.

My view is that SG don't have the basic ingredients for western-level democracy - educated citizens, free press, rights protected by constitution and a diverse economy.

What is the point of democracy when you have a mainly state-owned economy structure? It will only hamper the efficiency of the system when you have opposition.

The amount of dissent will be reduced when the 3rd generation Singaporeans pass away. They are left out due to a lack of education/opportunities. The current generation is well aware that they are responsible for their own life and there will be no help when they fuck up their lives.

last time I check, a cabinet minister must be a member of parliament ( MP, NCMP and NMP ) so it's possible to have a scenario where LHL lose in AMK GRC, return as NMP and be a cabinet minister but he won't have full voting rights as a MP. Can a NMP be prime minister, not sure?

it's morally impossible for a NCMP or NMP to be PM or cabinet minister but why can't they legislate these words in black and white - NCMP and NMP cannot be PM or minister.

Perhaps the fact that people have not stepped foward to challenge LHL in AMK, or that the majority have not voted for opposition in AMK or in other wards, shows that most people are still satisfied with LHL and PAP.

If people were suffering, hungry and desperate all over SG, there would be strong challenges in AMK and opposition support all over SG. Am I right?

As for the point about mp becoming ministar, he can also be an ncmp, if he gets one of the highest % of losing votes. But I don't think he will be PM as an nmp or ncmp.

In Singapore SAF is peasant and peasant is SAF, in a political situation for the use of forces, generals regardless how they are paid or incompetent have nearly zero chance to reverse the men's political positions by order.

They will only flee or get shot dead trying to serve PAP.

You can be sure that PAP only put trusted dogs to be generals, but that is still far from this dream to use military orders or forces to achieve political goals, because only the reverse result will be there awaiting.

Military coups to gain power had been and still will be carried out by lower officers who have balls bigger than the generals. Colonel Gaddafi of Libya and Colonel Suharto from Indonesia for example. In Myanmar their generals had lost power to their own subordinates using softer coups. A major by a name I can not remember was well respected and very popular in Philippines during People's Power.

Chinese Mao was also a lower positioned officer initially in the CCP, and it was only during heavy losses ad serious defeats suffered by CCP under KMT troops attacks, and during which Mao's battle plan proposals was proven to be effective that he gained power. But what was his qualifications and trainings? He had no formal military background at all, not even BMT! He was just a librarian from Chang Sha library. Big time generals with big troops and formal trainings etc got defeated by strategies from a no body.

Real leadership emerged from unexpected places, Hitler was only an NCO in the German army! BGs in Singapore are not expected to perform anything other than blow-jobs. If forces are to be exercised politically in Singapore BGs are not able to prevent anything, neither side can really count on them, they will not be able to cause anything to happen nor preventing anything from happening.
