Can also. Try active sg then abit of weight at home. Because I don't know your age and your overall health. So can't comment much. But doing squats is beneficial.

Managed to run 5k in 36 minutes, my pb.

So I think I am about above average .

5km 36mins is ok. I sometimes 5km 40 mins also have. Average is 37 mins.
 
My vo2 max is 33.8
I target to improve it to 50 in 12 months
Is this target unachievable ?

That is 6m pace but continuously for 10k. Very good already
This was before covid n I was only 30 plus then. Now year by year declining.
Now sometime run road , park , stadium.
I choose a incline route for training. I want to control running. Too much cardio will cause muscle lost.
