The People's Action Party's (PAP) slate of potential candidates for opposition-held Aljunied GRC is "getting into place" former PAP chairman, Lim Boon Heng said last night.

He spoke to reporters during a community event attended by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, in the PM's first public appearance in Aljunied GRC since his party lost the constituency to the Workers' Party in the May 2011 General Election.

I don't know if the increased cost of living can be attributed to PAP or not, but they will take the blame, being in charge of affairs in Singapore.

The PAP runs the show ...the PAP enact policies...to say that the increased cost of living has nothing to do with the PAP is pure bs. Our lives are totally controlled by the PAP.

I have not noticed any of the oppos proposing ways/methods of arresting the increased costs as they would play it safe by not saying anything that cannot be fulfilled, so better remain quiet. Singapore is limited by the small land space, and nobody can do anything about that, despite being paid huge sums of money. So while collecting their huge salaries, just don't rock the boat, and make hay while the sun shines, or rather, just collect the money and hope it lasts. That's the way politicians are.

It is not the job of opposition MPs to do the PAP's work. The Opposition is there to critique and criticise, not to offer solution. The PAP's version of democracy is self-serving. It wants to be the highest paid public servants in the world, claiming their superior talent, yet it doesn't have the brains to prove that they are best. Only sinkees will put up with that. In true democracy, the PAP would have been long gone.

Every country has its constraints and find a way around it. PAP keeps harping on these constraints to justify its policies which are now seen as detrimental to the well-being of the country. There are enough successful small states for sinkapore to learn from. We have ministers making frequents trip overseas supposedly to learn from them. Those are just jiat hong trips ...they come back with nothing to show.

It is time we stop doing politics the PAP way. The opposition needs to whack them hard, like how the Republicans whacked Obama with lies. Opposition has enough facts to whack PAP hard.
