She didn't mentioned how much monthly allowance and money her husband gave her so we cannot just assume is an abused from which party.

Eg the old fart ex colleague of mine that always need to drink in sorrow, earns $4k+ per mth but only gives his housewifey $600 per mth, although he covered all the bills.
His wife, daughters and his wife's side familee all look down on him and kpkb he is a useless man. That's why he always feel depress and drink to drown his sorrows.
He wanted to Siew his wifey due to this, but he doesn't want to share his cpf leetirement fund with his wifey.

In his case, I see it as a abuse from him becos his wife doesn't work at all since marriage and $600 cannot do much nowadays. And he himself always go on self holidays to escape from the torture from his entire familee clan.

We also have to view it and think from the party that stays as a homemaker.
They have no incum. A person without incum with not much "shi fang qian" will always feel insecure, be it man or woman.
And to ask $ from another person is not always an easy task.
