Cambodia Launches Massive Crackdown on Telecom Fraud Centers; Over 2,000 Arrested, Mostly China Nationals

(PHNOM PENH, Feb 1) — Cambodian authorities have conducted a large-scale raid on several major telecommunications fraud compounds (often referred to as "scam parks"). The operation resulted in the arrest of more than 2,000 individuals, the majority of whom are identified as China nationals.

Key Details of the Raid:
The Operation: Police forces targeted a prominent scam park located in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province. The operation was part of an intensified national effort to dismantle illegal gambling and online fraud syndicates that have plagued the region.

Total Arrests: Official reports confirm that 2,044 foreigners were detained during the enforcement action.

Current Status of the Compounds: Following the raid, images from the scene (including those from Sihanoukville) show once-bustling industrial parks and residential compounds now completely deserted.

Regional Pressure: This crackdown follows increased diplomatic pressure from neighboring countries and the international community to address the rise of human trafficking and cybercrime syndicates operating within Cambodia's borders.

Broader Context
For several years, Cambodia—particularly cities like Sihanoukville and Bavet—has been a hub for "Pig Butchering" scams and other forms of cyber fraud. This latest sweep is one of the largest in recent history and signals a more aggressive stance by the Cambodian government to clean up its international image and restore law and order in its border cities.

Tiagong the Hainan 'free port' is just a location for the CCP regime to shift its scam operations from the Indochina region.

If you want to do business there, you deserve to get fucked.

If you want to take a holiday there, you can, but be alert and pretend you don't know or are poor at the Chinese language.
