thxs all!

i can access my files already...i change my access for "everyone" to "Full Control" :o

but seems like after partition, some files in the folders went missing...

friend, i am using raid in mirror option. easiest among all levels. you should try restoring your whole system(OS+data) from your external HD, see if it's really what you think...:p

will you put your banking data on cloud, if you do, i think it's very moronic. my HD mirror, one fail, anothere kick in instantly. don;t even have to bother with restoration, i can tell you the process is not so straight forward. besides, i always feel safer with my HD by my side.

If you are worried about your data, shouldn't one be using RAID or an external HDD?
I got a WD USB 3.0 ext HDDs to do backups. This may not be a power users choice, but I think it is the easiest solution.

Using a single HDD with multiple partitions isn't a good idea as you have found out.

Agree with the earlier comments about external HDD and cloud storage. In case you do not know about cloud storage, they can optionally upload the document in your hard drive to the cloud storage automatically, which means, you save your files in local hard drive C:\My Documents for example, any file you put in this folder gets uploaded automatically to cloud storage. This is an optional feature, if you want this feature, you need to install their custom software.. if not, you just manually copy the file to cloud storage.
