this is typically harvest time but vineyards between st. helena and calistoga along the silverado trail are roasted beyond recognition.

the farmhouse which stored wine bottles from the vineyards around castello di amorosa is destroyed together with its contents.

as of today, here's the updated list of wineries and restaurants that are damaged or destroyed (it will continue to grow when firefighters and owners are allowed to return to inspect damages a week or two from now):

• Behrens Family Winery in St. Helena shared that it lost its winery building but that the “tank barn and tasting room there are ok,” Wine Spectatorwrote.
• Burgess Cellars in Deer Park was lost its original Burgess Cellars winery and a barrel warehouse, according to The San Francisco Chronicle, but its tasting room and house are still intact.
• Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga reported suffering major losses on the property.
• Chateau Boswell in St. Helena was destroyed Sunday.
• Fairwinds Winery in Calistoga reported on its business website that most of the winery and tasting room has been “seriously damaged.”
• The Grill restaurant at Meadowood resort in St. Helena was destroyed.
• Hourglass Winery in Calistoga had its winery and 162-year-old house on-site demolished by the fires, The San Francisco Chronicle reported.
• Hunnicutt Winery in St. Helena sustained some property damage, but reported Tuesday that the tasting room, admin, and production offices are still standing, with minimal damage.
• Merus Winery in St. Helena told Wine Spectator that it lost some buildings on the property and while the winery building was damaged, it was still intact.
• Newton Vineyard in St. Helena shared Monday that the winery and vineyards had been “significantly impacted” and would be closed until further notice.
• Tofanelli Family Vineyard in Calistoga sustained damages, according to The San Francisco Chronicle
• Tuck Beckstoffer Estate in St. Helena saved its winery but “everything else was lost,” reports Wine Enthusiast.
