<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I AM a taxi driver who witnessed the traffic congestion caused by the Shell petrol promotion last Saturday.
It seems to me there are two sets of traffic rules: one for taxi drivers, and the other for promotional events like Shell's.
Cabbies are often disallowed from queueing at taxi stands when the number of taxis exceeds the stipulated number on the signboard.
This is especially the case at taxi stands at Hitachi Tower and The Centrepoint, even though the taxi queue is much shorter and moves much faster compared with last Saturday's snaking queues at the Shell stations involved in the promotion.
