Hong Lim protest against the 6.9M population white paper to bring in even more foreigners.
As I understand, the gahmen of Singapore has amassed reserves of roughly half a trillion give or take a hundred billion over the years; including the surpluses of its statutory boards and other agencies.
We have been told and far too many have accepted the argument that the reserves cannot be ‘raided’ to help the old and poor, the sick and poor, both sick, old and poor, the unemployed and people incapable of making ends meet, well you get the drift..
So with the population white paper projecting officially a Singaporean core of about 55%(including new citizens amassed over the years and who have not served NS and who probably have another passport as backup); we can easily guess that by 2030,the actual percentage of true blue Singaporeans would fall well below 50%.
By then, what is to stop these new citizens from encroaching into politics and getting into parliament and finally getting a say into how these reserves are used and insinuating themselves and their kind as beneficiaries of our hard-earned reserves built up by true blue Singaporeans who have been waiting for the proverbial rainy day to their graves?
See you there on May 1st 2013!
