No need to buy I brought two of these. Ya it's pricey but this is the only way I know. I think buying a sim card requires a local address and I move around. Yes a sim card will be so so convenient and no extra device is required.Ya I'm ginna charge to my own business so it's ok.

oh yes, when i register the sim card on line, they ask for my address, i gave my hotel address. It did not work, so i call their helpdesk and they only want to know which city you are. It is workable but take a bit time to find it, hard to find, and time to register. Not for you, but for people who do not need internet for business, just holiday, can spend the time to find a bargain.

I had to go back to the MIFI counter this morning because I found out the spare battery of the MIFI was not working. Anyway its not far.

Asked him if they supply mini-SIM he told me that they do supply almost all the SIM cards from all companies. So for foreigners like me who does not have any address I can prebook the SIM card and then pick it up at his counter when arriving at LAX. However, now listen to this, all prepaid SIM cards in USA comes with only 2G connections. 3G connections are only for SIM cards with 2 years contract. If not the only other 3G for non-contract is the MIFI device.

Now everything is so clear.

You can buy a prepaid 3G mini-sim, that operates on the AT&T network, here:
Straight Talk Wireless

If you don't want to buy online, then Straight Talk can be purchased at Walmart. No contract, unlimited 3G, voice

Thanks. Actually been using the MIFI for past 3 days wife and I really love it. I could work and she could instagram. Only problem is the battery life is short that's why there is a spare. But then I guess the batteries are old so each full charge could last only 1 -2 hrs. But then when driving I could charge and I also have battery pack so not an issue for me so far. Speed wise I am actually pleasantly surprised its pretty good for our needs.
