(27 April) Singapore is considering a purchase of Russian-designed 9K338 Igla-S manportable surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems, according to a senior official of the Russian defence organisation KB Mashinostroyenia (KBM).

In comments reported by state-run news agency ITAR-TASS on 23 April, KBM chief designer Georgy Vasiliev said the agency had “long-standing ties” with Singapore, and that the country was “going to negotiate the possibility of acquiring” the SAM system.
