One glaring omission when Parliament debated this yesterday: No minister explained and no MPs including the WP MPs asked why were police and civil defence vehicles targeted but private vehicles and businesses mostly spared.

I think enough but not the majority of the foreign workers hate the government. That night most of them were just staring at what happened and probably as stunned as us.

Now the DPM and Home Minister is going head to head of this hatred with more police power? Good luck to him. We better learn to use more local labor in a highly productive and knowledge intensive way before we run out of time. History taught us that using force against force only buy time. It does nothing for peace and only the appearance of peace.

I am noticing a trend of the PAP government refusing to take responsibility. The inability and unwillingness to face the truth.

As for foreign workers from the subcontinent, I think this government is stealthily trying to copy Dubai. Just watch. I will come back this this post sometime later to check.

A riot took place in Little India on the night of 8 December 2013. The riot was the result of an unruly mob reacti ng to a fatal traffic accident. This was the worst public order disturbance in Singapore in more than four decades. 23 emergency response vehicles were damaged, of which five were burnt. An other seven private vehicles were damaged. 49 Home Team officers sustained injuries.
