THE two men are bus drivers, who ferry workers to firms in Changi, but they came to blows after one of them cut into the other's lane. Goh Kah Sia, 61, is now on trial in a district court for hurting Tay Kwang Kim, 59, in January last year. He told Assistant Public Prosecutor Prakash Ram Otharam that he was going at about 50kmh and had changed lanes 'suddenly', because 'many cars do this, and it's not very wrong.' Goh, who was ferrying 43 workers in a bigger bus to Schenker Logistics, was forced to slam his brakes to avoid a collision. When the buses stopped at the traffic light junction near Xilin Avenue, he got down and allegedly attacked Mr Tay. Goh's lawyer R.S. Wijaya argued that Mr Tay had used his door to hit the other driver's body, causing bruising to the elbow and chest. If convicted, Goh could be fined up to $1,000 and/or jailed for up to a year.
