aiyah. that's the iowa-class battleship built in ww2 lah. there are 4 of them: iowa, missouri, new jersey, and wisconsin. they are all out of active service and mothballed now as either museums or memorials. the uss iowa is berthed in los angeles and open to the public as a naval museum. i was on it and given an exclusive tour when it was docked in port near richmond for maintenance and seaworthiness, but it was towed south to l.a. after that. the uss new jersey is a floating museum in camden, nj. the uss wisconsin is a museum in norfolk, va. and the most famous of them all, big mo the uss missouri, is a permanent memorial feature at pearl harbor. the jap surrender was signed on board big mo at tokyo bay.
