Brompton Gold Cup

Still think he will be jailed to 'make an example' though.

I opine this case wont have gone to court if there werent any negative publicity. They could have dealt with this internally through PSC. But after all the kpkb, they lan lan charge to appease.

This case is going to be a landmark case because the charge is unusual. It's like you arrested someone for rape and after the investigation he gets charged for lying to the investigator that he was not in the house when it happenned.

There is no doubt that he is going to get kicked out of his job. But the inability for CPIB to frame a charge despite he manipulating the tender system to such a degree one wonders what they actually do.

The CPIB has seen its best days.

The NBG's case has brought shame and CPIB has to recover its reputation fast.

will this case cement the scorn CPIB deserves?

Think you are right. The old days of threats and intimidation where suspects confess to everything has gone. People are much educated and aware of their rights.

yes...and the failure of recent CPIB's cases has shaken the CPIB investigators. They are not so cocksure of themselves anymore. Perhaps they feel inadequate and unsure.

He and others at his level have been doing it since it dawned on them that their management bosses all the way to the Istana are playing under table mahjong. The game was not to be caught. You can have a staunch Buddhist Cow backing you by throwing cow dung smoke but that can't fight the cyclonic winds of the new media. There you have it.

Why arent they as good as they should be? It's their recruitment and culture.

Khaw owes this country an apology. He was given an opportunity to look into it. He stood firm. When pushed, he came back more confident then ever. Then CEO writes a letter to the press saying that all is well, the grass is green! everything in order etc etc? The same day Netizen CSI reveals the outcome of his protracted investigation. The prostitutes from Toa Payoh pretend nothing happenned.

15 days later, they announce that matter was reported to CPIB.

This Brompton story is one of my top agenda items for discussion on nomination day 2016. Fucking bicycles can con and Minister lazy to do due diligence. Fuck collect $3m in that year for what?

true.

the same can be said for almost every aspects in SG.

the political leaders (LHL, TCH, etc) are a poor shadow of the 1st generation (LKY, GKS, etc)
the civil service leaders (PeterOng, etc) are a poor shadow of their predecessors (HSS, Howe Yoon Chong)
the SPF leaders are bad compared to the earlier generations (Tan Teck Khim, GYH, etc)
etc

there is a lot of in breeding and the parachuting of inexperienced scholars into seats of authority has done much damage to how SG is governed

The winners

Scroobal - guilty - fine
Golden Dragon - guilty - fine - dismissal from office
Debonerman - guilty - fine
Equalisation - guilty - fine $50 - demoted
Kingrant - Gulity - fine

hahaha...u never change...
u always twist thing to score brownie points with the naive impressionable....
there was no breach of tender system.....although the system can be improve (like increasing the min time for tender)
there was no evidence of corruption..
bernard is an idiot....
i stand corrected but i do not think he is the approving authority...
also it is not an offence if he is a friend of the potential supplier.......
there is no need for him to lie and to try to tell his friend to lie that they were not acquainted.......

You forgot & left out the part, that he mentioned to the investigator, his boss mentioned & "praised" the act, for 'sometime, some woman needed to be raped"...that is unusual.

As you long you a re "member"...they will twist that lie to make it to sound like Gospel Truth....some, gets crucified for stealing courier fees....
