A bridal shop owner in Kajang, Selangor, was raped at knife point by a man who had pretended to order a suit for his 'wedding'.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Wahab said the incident occurred at around 11am when the 29-year-old woman was attending to a potential customer at her shop at Bandar Rinching.
“The 19-year-old man entered the shop under the pretence of ordering some attire for his wedding and started talking to the shop owner.
Moments later, he pulled out a knife and locked the shop’s main door, before ordering the woman to strip naked,” he said.
The woman was then raped.
He said the rapist was caught when the woman’s husband turned up at the shop and overpowered him until police arrived at the scene.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
