Bridal gowns not allowed onboard SIA planes?

A couple who wanted a small area on board a Singapore International Airlines plane to hang a bridal gown had their request turned down by the airline.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that a would-be bride had contacted SIA to request for a small area to hang her wedding dress but was told that it was a security risk.

Their requests were similarly turned down at both the check-in counter and on the plane.

The couple had to bring the gown onboard by themselves. The cabin crew did not offer them any help despite being aware of the situation.

Subsequently, the dress arrived in a poor condition and had to undergo dry-cleaning to restore it to its original state.

The couple was on their way to Australia from Abu Dhabi to get married.

The bride's mother, Robyn Lewis, indicated in a letter to the Sydney Morning Herald that she was disappointed with the airline's service.

When contacted, SIA said that it was unable to comment on the incident as it had not received any complains. The airline also urged the complainant to contact them and provide them with more details on what happened.

This is why no airline will entertain such request!

How can the gown need to be 'restored to its original state' during a flight ? Looks like this passenger looking to get a free dry-clean service if they claim the airline dirtied her gown while in their care if they really took her request.

All planes has a jacket closet to hang jackets and such, even in cattle-class, which, the flight attendants will assist to hang it.
