Dive Into Breast Cushions And More At Japan’s Oppai Art ExhibitSource: PR Times
When putting together a Japan travel itinerary, it can sometimes be easy to forget penciling in one of the country’s many fascinating art exhibits, such as Hikaru Cho’s surreal animal-human hybrid body paint, as well as a horror gallery that houses the origin of the viral hoax Momo and other vengeful spirits.
So art (and/or breast fans) traveling in Fukuoka in November may want to mark their calendars for a special one-day exhibit hosted in collaboration by Fukuoka Radio station COMI×TEN and art office andGALLERY. It has a fairly straightforward name, the Oppai Exhibit (Boob Exhibit).

Despite the name, it’s not quite as racy as you may think. The contemporary art exhibit is actually being held as a means of promoting women artists, and spreading awareness of women’s societal issues and importance of early breast cancer detection. A press release also says there will be a talk show event diving into the “deep psychology” of breasts, eroticism, and love.
The exhibit will include breast shaped cushions by artist Nami Tanaka, works consisting of unneeded bras, and illustrations by Mayumi Fujimoto and Seitaro Kuroda.

There will also be a concert and story-telling session by singer songwriter Uta, as well as an “Oppai Shop” where attendees can purchase breast related shirts, tote bags, badges, and other goods. As it’s a charity exhibit, a portion of the proceeds will go towards breast cancer awareness efforts.
