SINGAPORE — An off-work bouncer was having drinks alone at a night club when he witnessed an altercation involving a man wielding a knife.

Aaron Chua Jun Hao, 25, decided to help by chasing the perpetrator in his car and hit him in the back.

Each of the two times Shaun Koh Kim Guan, 22, got up to flee, Chua would drive his car forward and hit him in the back again.

Chua on Monday (12 April) pleaded guilty to one count of committing a rash act endangering the life of a person. His sentencing has been adjourned to 30 April.

In the early hours of 25 July 2019, Chua had been drinking at a night club known as Club Peaches, at Concorde Shopping Mall, after work when he saw three men get into a dispute over a staring incident at about 4am.

The three began shouting at each other and were then escorted from Club Peaches by bouncers. The dispute escalated into a fight outside the club, with Koh pulling out a foldable knife and slashing the other two men. He then fled in the direction of Cavenagh Road.

Bouncers from the club gave chase and Chua also decided to chase Koh. As he was too slow, he drove his rented car after Koh. He caught up with Koh and drove his car beside Koh as the latter ran on the pavement.

After a while, Koh turned onto Cavenagh Road and made to run across the road. As Koh stepped onto the road, Chua hit him in the back with his car, causing Koh to fall. Koh got up and tried to run again, but Chua drove his car forward and hit his back for a second and third time.

At this point, bouncers caught up and pinned Koh to the ground. He was arrested and sent to hospital for treatment. Koh suffered from backache as a result of being hit.

Koh and the other two men are currently facing criminal cases before the courts.

For committing a rash act to endanger safety, Chua could have been jailed up to a year, and/or fined up to $5,000.

This.

This is why Sinkies tend to not help strangers in distress. Heroism doesn't pay.

The poodles should be giving him a medal for his vigilantism; he deserved it more than those lamp post huggers.

Everything is backwards in this urban shithole. 阴阳反背

The hero himself a bit drunk and thought he might have some fun in the skirmish.
