Movement calls for 5 million people to wear black for Mr Lee Kuan Yew - Channel NewsAsia
Messages are circulating, calling for people to don black tops on Mar 29, the last day of mourning for Mr Lee Kuan Yew as a mark of respect.

SINGAPORE: Messages urging people in Singapore to wear black on Sunday (Mar 29), the final day of mourning for Mr Lee Kuan Yew, started circulating on Whatsapp, social media, and via email on Tuesday.

The movement aims for 5 million people to don the sombre colour as a mark of respect for the late Mr Lee, Singapore's founding Prime Minister, who passed away early Monday.

"We are spreading the word ... Everyone wear black tops on Sunday ... 5 million people in black to mourn for Mr Lee," read the message.

Lots of people pay respect to LKY because he improved the lives of so many people. Few people would pay tribute to JBJ, Chiam and Chia Thye Poh combined simply because they impacted far fewer people.

Did any of the opposition play a role in ensuring our kids are bilingual?

Did any opposition member play a role in developing a credible SAF to protect Singapore?

Did any opposition help to weed out corruption culture in the civil service by instituting CPIB and other anti-corruption practices?

Did any opposition help Singapore to attract MNCs here to provide tens of thousands of jobs to sinkies?

Did any opposition help to eradicate the slums and provide modern housing to hundreds of thousands of sinkies?

it is already year 2015. this founding father of country mourning is so 20th century and long outdated already. sinkies ought to get a grip, relax and relax and just forget about all this mourning things.

We will pay our respect to a great man who had died, in our own way...DO NOT FORCE PEOPLE HOW TO SHOW THAT RESPECT....this proves that you people are still insensitive to people's feeling, how about giving the people the RESPECT....
