Icelandic singer-songwriter and actress Bjork arrived in Taiwan from Japan on Wednesday to prepare for a Taipei concert set for Saturday, organizers said.

The 47-year-old singer, known for her experimental electro-pop music and outlandish fashion, is set to enchant fans at the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall on Aug. 10.

This will be her first concert in Taiwan — the only Asian stop other than Japan on the world tour for her 2011 album Biophilia.

Bjork is keeping a low profile during her stay in the country and has not made public the length of her stay or any other details of her itinerary, according to Very Aspect Culture Group, one of the Taiwan organizers of the concert.

"One more Tokyo show tonight, and then we say goodbye to Japan for a while. Taiwan, here we come!" Bjork wrote on her Facebook page a day earlier.

Bjork, whose music crosses rock, jazz, classical, electronic and folk, has been nominated for 14 Grammy Awards. She was also hailed by National Geographic magazine as Iceland's most notable export.

The Reykjavik native thrilled global audiences with her performance at the opening of the 2004 Athens Olympics.

In addition to singing, Bjork has received accolades for her work as an actress. She was named best actress at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival for her role in the musical drama Dancer in the Dark.
