Big name sponsors dump disgraced drug cheat .. GUESS WHICH RACE?

He retired in 2005 after winning his 7th tour. Came back probably fearing contador could eclipse him.

He came back not expecting to win but to collect appearance and sponsorships. He also startedbto have an air of invincibility knowing that UCI had been compromised.

I support Armstrong 100%. He did what he had to do to win races in a sport where top level competition is impossible without pharmaceutical assistance.

Only the dumbfuck yanks would turn against one of their own. If a similar investigation was conducted on Indurain, the findings would be no different but the Spanish aren't going to destroy their cycling Icon. Neither would the Belgians, the French or the Italians.

Tyler Hamilton's gold medal at the 2004 Olympics has been handed to Ekimov who was Lance's right hand man for years. Anyone who thinks that Ekimov is more deserving of gold than Hamilton has to be severely retarded.

Travis Tygart should be charged with treason for destroying a National treasure. His actions have harmed Trek, Nike, Oakley and many other US companies and this will undoubtedly have an adverse effect on the US economy at a time when it is already struggling to make ends meet. Tygart, through his actions, has probably caused as much harm to US interests as Bin Laden did. Whoever is in charge of National Security should deal with him in no uncertain terms before he does even more damage.

I say let everyone dope to equal the riding field and we get to see the greatest race on earth.

When Lance decided that he wanted to win the tour, he was up against the likes of Ullrich, (East European), Pantani (dirty Italian) and Vino (Kazak/Russian).

Would you reject doping if you were competing against these characters with the aim of beating them? I certainly wouldn't. I'd go straight out and find the best doctor in town.

Actually I blame UCI for this mess. If they had been visionary and bold, they would have allowed doping with no exception. The idea is to see records being broken, the body to be tested to its limits. Sure the rich nations and individuals would have access to the best drugs and best doctors but sports was never meant for the masses. More importantly it builds the competitive spirit to strive and reach the pinnacle at all costs.

The damage to the human body due to doping is exaggerated. Such claims have yet to be proven. The fact that there are doctors and medically qualified staff that accompany teams full time and look after the health of athletes shows the duty of care that sports associations and team administrators ask of themselves.

They don't test the competitors for drugs/steroids because of concern to their health. They do it so as to ensure that no cheating is involved and that the competition is fair. This should be pretty obvious.

Cyclists take performance enhancing drugs in order to ensure that the competition is fair.

Everybody else is on drugs so if you don't do the same, you've lost the race even before it starts.

Yes but it's an open secret correct? They take the drugs that cannot be discovered or cycle it so that it won't be discovered am i correct?

Officially out in the open you aren't supposed to take drugs am i right?

The gold standard is supposed to be the drugs test. If you pass, you're considered clean. That's how it should be.

Stripping a person of his titles based only on the testimony of a bunch of other confessed dopers is absolutely ridiculous.

Armstrong must have offended the wrong person.
No reason to persecute him after so many years.

Armstrong is the world's most obnoxious arsehole and he has offended just about every person he's ever met but that doesn't justify destroying his magnificent achievements.

Cyclists have been doping ever since the first peddle was turned in anger. However, no other doper achieved what Lance did. He's the world's best ever.

I've doped in all the races I've done too. Since I don't have the luxury of a team doctor, I dope myself with large amounts of caffeine and pain killers. It does wonders.

For my next bike race, I'm adding EPO Boost to the mix to see if it helps.

YuP so that's it you are supposed to be drug free officially but there's ways to get round the drug testing and pass it even when you have drugged yourself up. I think it is thru cycling of the drug where you take it for a certain period of time before the drug test and when it comes the drug has already left your system. Then again I am sure the test dates arent supposed to be announced there was one competitor I think in the UFC that got caught off guard by an unannounced drug test and failed it think it was overreem. Needless to say he failed the test and could not fight.
