Death is a topic that we are destined to face, but have you ever thought that we can "suspend" death? Robert Ettinger, who was known as the "father of cryonics technology" in 1964, proposed the concept of cryonics, freezing the body and waiting for future technology to resurrect the "frozen people." James Bedford, an American volunteer, became the first person to freeze his body in 1967. The world's first "frozen man" will be thawed this year, and many people are curious. Can it be resurrected successfully?

Edinger, the "father of cryonics technology", constantly mentions "freezing resurrection" in his most important book, The Future of Immortality. He believes that death is a gradual process. If the body is frozen fast enough, Death can be reversed. The book influenced many people at the time, including James Bedford, who had lung cancer, and Robert Nelson, a 29-year-old plumber.

Plumber Nielsen is deeply fascinated by "human freezing technology" and began to study various resuscitation data, and even became the chairman of the local "Life Extension Society of America". In June 1965, Nielsen took the initiative to write to James, inviting him to be the first person to participate in the "freezing resurrection experiment", and James, who had cancer, could only stay in bed for many years, and he prepared $100,000. After the body's maintenance in the future, the last breath was swallowed on January 12, 1967.

After James passed away, Nielsen and several physicians began the first "human cryotherapy" operation in human history. They first took a cold shower for James, allowing the body to cool, then pumping all the blood in his body and injecting it. A large amount of dimethyl hydrazine, a solvent that was considered a cryoprotectant at the time. After waiting for three days, they stuffed James's body in a styrofoam box for storage. Over the years, James was kept in the freezing centers of the states until 1982 and transferred to the Life Extension Foundation.

This "cylinder" operation has been over 50 years now. James has long been judged by many people that there is no possibility of resurrection. However, in 2017, Nelson, who is 80 years old, has been interviewed and announced that "James will wake up this year." It is expected that James will be resurrected within this year. But after the announcement, Nelson lost the news and did not make a statement, so many people speculated that the experiment should be a failure. Although the world's first "frozen man" may not be resurrected successfully, this experiment still creates an important milestone for cryonics technology, so James was frozen on the same day, also known as "Bedford" on January 12th. Germany and Japan.
