Why? Cos they don't know how to measure sugar level due to poor math and make their kuehs v sweet?

A lot of neighbourhood bakeries here is run by Malaysians maybe they are FT who have good baking genes. Many young Singaporeans want to cook a few things also got problem.
 
Bengawan Solo cakes/kueh are now overpriced and they rely more on the packaging/presentation to sell.
Many of the mom and pop HDB cake shops have also closed due to competition from chains like Breadtalk ,Four Leaves and Prima Deli.

I now buy my kueh from the Malay makcik at the coffeshop and hawker centres.
Why make Indonesians who are already rich even richer?
 
Started by Indonesian Chinese lady making it from the kitchen of her own house. Got fined and later open shop in Marine Parade. Yes, run by Indonesian Chinese.
 
Anyone notice that Crystal Jade has recently closed one of their branches:confused:

Times are tough even for established businesses especially with increasing rentals. So don't be surprised if they try to cut costs by hiring foreigners.
