before talking big about improve GDP, economy and national reserves, perhaps they should look into the little things that is stressing every singaporeans.
the #1 peevish matter would be hawker foods now being artificially driven to be quite expensive and unaffordable.
what does the pap adminstration intend to do about that? looks like they are clueless or they simply do not bother. their reason could be this simple lame excuse that they have distributed food vouchers or increased a very negligible mthly social welfare allowances.
theirs is the easy way out - provide the fish or rather the tiny ikan bilis to the poor and the needies instead of giving them the rod to catch the bigger fishes themselves.
such way of solving problems only encourage dependence and deflate the morale and dignity of the poor. it's a lame way.
in fact, they could easily overcome this problem. simply lower the hawker stall rentals, conservancy charges or even subsidise the workers with "reward money" for opening their stalls longer and selling their food as cheap as possible.
they can also at the same time prevent SUBLETTING of stalls. such malpractices must be stopped asap. hawker stalls are meant for selling affordable food and not for exploiting earn an easy buck from subletting at a higher rate. such stall owners who are caught should be severely dealt with.
would the gov be keen to see to it? i doubt so.....
i always ve this feeling the pap gov wants the people to feel anxious, stressed and probably always at the mercy of the pap adminstration. they love such sadistic outcome so that in future, they could exploit this and use it to their advantages in claiming credits or even votes garnering in the next GE>
