A woman who was allegedly brutally bashed by her husband has turned to Facebook in a desperate plea for help.

Susann Stacy posted a photo of herself covered in blood on the social networking site with the caption "Help… please anyone", the Huffington Post reported.

Her husband had allegedly bashed her with a gun and stopped her from calling the police, forcing the under siege woman to post the gruesome selfie.

Luckily for Stacy, one of her friends saw the post and was able to call the Leslie County police.

Officers arrived at the house shortly later and found the woman badly injured, but Stacy's husband wasn't there.

"She had several lacerations to the head. They appeared to be bad but we really couldn't tell at the time, due to her hair was matted to her, and the blood," Leslie County Sheriff's Deputy Sam Mullins told WKYT-TV.

The man, Donnie Stacy, was arrested by police and charged with assault.
