An allegation has been received that a man named Noor Islam raped a five-year-old child at home in Taraganj of Rangpur, on the pretext of giving her chocolates. The child rape victim has been writhing in pain in the hospital for three days.
The incident took place last Saturday evening at the Upazila’s Soyar Kamarpada shelter project. On Monday, the child’s father lodged a complaint with the police station in the name of child abductor Noor Islam.
It has been learned from the complaint source that the child’s father, a resident of the shelter project located in Sayar union of Upazila, went to Rangpur town on Saturday morning to catch a rickshaw, as he does every day. Leaving his wife and his two daughters in the house of the shelter project, he went to work as a laborer in the neighboring village. On this occasion, Noor Islam, the father of two children of the deceased Abur Hussain of Bhimpur Mahishkhola village of Alampur Union of Upazila, took the child to his house and raped her on the pretext of giving her chocolates. At this time, on the cry of the child, the residents of the shelter project came and informed the police of Tarakaganj police station, after seeing the child covered with blood. Later, the police of Tarakaganj police station rescued the child and admitted her to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for treatment. At present, the rape victim child has been writhing in pain for three days in Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
The residents said that they were all helpless and homeless. If they don’t work for a day, they don’t have enough to eat. All of them leave their children in the shelter project and go to work. Due to this incident, there is fear in the minds of all of them.
Taraganj police station’s SI Ajmal Hossain admitted that the rape victim was rescued and admitted to the hospital on the day of the incident and admitted to having received the complaint, saying that since the mother and father were with the child in the hospital, they could not make any complaint to the police station. After receiving the complaint, preparations have begun to arrest and prosecute the abductor.
