Covid-19: 39-year-old Bangladeshi worker in S’pore is in ‘very critical condition’
Another five Bangladeshis, who stayed with those who were infected have also been quarantined at NCID.
According to the Daily Star, one of the five Bangladeshi workers with the novel coronavirus in National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) is in a “very critical state” and is not responding to the medicine given to him.
39-year-old Bangladeshi in ‘very critical condition’
This was reported by Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen who received updates from Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, on the five Bangladeshi workers in Singapore.
Unfortunately, Momen said that one of the Bangladeshi patients, a 39-year-old male, has been in the intensive care unit (ICU) for the last 13 days and has not been responding to the medicine.
Based on the timeline and age, it appears to be Patient 42, but could be either of these patients.
They are both 39.
Before being infected with the Covid-19, the Bangladeshi had reportedly been suffering from respiratory and kidney disease.
The Daily Star reported that Momen said:
“They [the Singapore government] are doing their best to take care of him with medical services of the highest level.”
A Facebook post by Itsrainingraincoats, a social initiative that helps foreign workers in Singapore, posted the condition of the foreign worker on Feb. 14 and hoped for the recovery of the 39-year-old:

Currently, four other Bangladeshi workers are receiving treatment for Covid-19 at NCID, reported Daily Star.
Another five Bangladeshis, who stayed with those who were infected have also been quarantined at NCID.
Momen reported that the Singaporean government is helping to make sure no other Bangladeshi gets infected with the Covid-19 in Singapore, said Daily Star.
As of Feb. 19, 2020, 84 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Singapore, and 5 of them are Bangladeshis.
