Both a pimp and a customer said that sex workers have moved to Balestier and Lavendar after Geylang got too hot for them. By nightfall, both Balestier and Lavendar are lit up by KTV lounges, pubs and massage parlours.

These areas are also peppered with budget hotels and eateries operating late into the night.

Most of these nightspots have been around for more than 10 years, but it was only recently that night-time activity picked up at Balestier, said the pimp.
But things may not be as free-wheeling as in Geylang because some hotels in these areas do keep a lookout for vice activities.
For instance, a staff member of budget hotel nearby – Fragrance Hotel Oasis – told The New Paper that he had asked five Mongolian women suspected of plying the sex trade to leave its premises late last month. That was the only time that he has had to ask guests to leave the hotel's premises.

Why Frangrance hotel suddenly so holy? How much have they been making thru "transit" rental? if the hourly booking not so hot, I wonder if they can open so many branches at the geylang, balestier, kovan areas.
