A 53-year-old man, who could no longer stand his bad-tempered wife demanded a divorce.
Shocked to hear this from her gentle and tolerance husband, the woman - surnamed Wang - realised that she had been wrong.
Regretting her acts, the 48-year-old Singaporean woman begged for her husband's forgiveness.
Wang admitted that she often threw tantrums and scolded her spouse but he had always put up with the abuse.
The woman admitted that she had been ignoring him and giving him the cold shoulder for months on end over small matters.
"I am the youngest in the family. I'm spoilt. I told my husband that I have a bad temper before we got married."
"He had promised then that he would bear with me and my bad temper," she said.
But in March, the man said that he had had enough and told her that he wanted a divorce.
"It shocked me. For all the time we were married, he would do everything for me. Yet, I always threw tantrums and I did not count my blessings – that I have such a good husband.
"I regret not knowing how to appreciate him." she said.
Wang added that she had written more than 10 letters, asking for his forgiveness but her husband did not read a single one.
So she went to the media, asking for its help to publish an open apology to her husband.
The couple got to know each other while working at the same company 30 years ago, and tied the knot six years later.
They have three children.
