Instead of grooming local sporting and academic talent, our universities groom foreign talent, with taxpayer monies, because of the tuition grants received from MOE.

Problem is we are not attracting the best and brightest. Talk to anyone in academic circles. They will tell you we are attracting mainly rejects -- those who couldn't make it to the US or UK.

The varsities actually have to organize YEARLY recruitment drives in China just to reach out to the better students. They actually have to go down physically to China and beg.

The top notch, creme-de-la-creme elite students are proud to work and contribute in the country which educated them long after they graduated. I won't mind having them as FT in our countries. Problem is they don't want to come to SG. They are good enough for 1st world countries.

The only ones coming to SG are the 3rd and 4th rate stuff.

Have we forgotten that this was the very country that cheated us of our hard-earned savings - The Suzhou Project?

What about the number of innocent Singaporeans who got cheated when they tried to invest in China?

The list goes on.

Why are we so :beholden" to this country?
