Iran warns world of coming great event
Says 'evil hegemony' soon will be defeated by power of Allah

Amid crippling sanctions over its nuclear weapons program, Iran is continuing to prepare itself for war against the West, and now is warning of a coming great event.

“In light of the realization of the divine promise by almighty God, the Zionists and the Great Satan (America) will soon be defeated,” Ayatollah Khamenei, the Iranian supreme leader, is warning.

Khamenei, speaking to hundreds of youths from more than 70 countries attending a world conference on the Arab Spring just days ago, told a cheering crowd in Tehran that “Allah’s promises will be delivered and Islam will be victorious.”

The countries represented included Bahrain, Egypt, Libya, Palestine and Tunisia, all of which have been involved in the Arab Spring.

In his remarks, Khamenei advised the youths to remain vigilant, stating that the Islamic awakening in the region has delivered several blows to the enemies of Islam and that all Muslims, despite their own historical and social differences, remain united in opposing the “evil hegemony of the Zionists and the Americans.”

Khamenei then claimed the current century as the century of Islam and promised that human history is on the verge of a great event and that soon the world will realize the power of Allah.

Many clerics in Iran have stated that Khamenei is the deputy of the last Islamic messiah on earth and that obedience to him is necessary for the final glorification of Islam.

I too believe in peak oil. The cost of oil production keeps going up as more and more ingenious ways are invented to extract the meagre that is left. Where it used to be as simple as turning on the tap, now you have to force pump it out using water.

But in the middle of the desert, where is the water? You can pipe it from the sea several kilometers away. But salt water is not good for oil. It has several impurities and it needs refining. Same problem as with off-shore oil, in addition to the difficult process of drilling in open sea. Getting oil from oil shale is a different process altogether.

Like coal before it, it will come a time when oil will have to be replaced. Unfortunately there is no clearcut candidate on the horizon for oil alternatives, not nuclear energy as nuclear fuel is not something you can find in abundance in nature, even if you can ignore the danger post by radiation unless you are talking about nuclear fusion. Unfortunately, the world have been talking about nuclear fusion for the past sixty years, without too much success.

The solution to our problem, then, is to use a combination of energy sources - solar, wind, tidal, hydroelectricity, biodiesel, nuclear, thermal, kinetic, clean coal and oil. Also we need to have more green devices and machinery, things that run better on less, maybe something cleaner like electricity and let the electricity providers find the best sources.

Cardboard Ayatollah Used to Celebrate Historical Anniversary in Iran

Iran has carried out an unintentionally hilarious celebration to mark one of its most important historical events.

First though, a bit of background. On this day 33 years ago, Iranian religious leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini made an historic return to Iran, having spent 15 years in exile. The immensely popular Ayatollah had been forced to leave the country by the Shah, who was then backed by the U.S. However, 1977 saw the Iranian Revolution kick off, causing the Shah to flee. The revolution paved the way for the Ayatollah Khomeini’s triumphant return on February 1, 1979. He was met at Tehran Airport by literally millions of delirious Iranians, and by the end of 1979 was his country’s new Supreme Leader.

To this day the Ayatollah remains widely loved in Iran, and the anniversary of his return is commemorated each year with events across the country.

As he passed away in 1989, personal appearances are sadly out of the question, but the Iranian authorities had a solution this year: three giant cardboard cutouts of the Ayatollah, each carried down the steps of a plane and then marched around the airport. On their short tour, the cardboard constructions ‘inspected’ lines of troops as soldiers saluted and looked dutifully serious.

The bizarre and endearingly lo-fi ceremony ended with one of the cardboard Ayatollahs being paraded around the airport in an open-top army truck, as a marching band tooted its approval in the background.

there was one very famous scientist who said to produce the oil in just one of Saudi Arabia's large oil fields would require dinosaurs and plants to be packed tightly together in a cube miles wide and high...............at 100% conversion rate to oil.........

he said it's so absurd that only goons will believe it's even possible !
