If he have not read the book, have a go. It is quite interesting but you would have to connect the dots to realise what happened. He mentioned a number of incidents over the years where the outcome was never reported by the Media or the Govt but he does it in a subtle way
The last and most recent incident was the findings of 2 academics over Foreigners taking over jobs from Singapore. This is when Ng Eng Hen erupted and crucified the 2 and claimed that they did not have access to the right data. He reveals that in the end the findings were correct and the Govt had to change their policies.
He also refers to the CPF study that was not published. The most comical is when he mentions that Singapore has no pension system (duh!)when he was asked to go from NUS before the retirement age. Imagine a man of his background worried about lack of income and he was a full prof living in a bungalow with a daughter married to one of the Lees. Can you imagine an ordinary Singaporean who leaves his job prematurely at age 50 plus and with family to support.
Sadly he does not mention how his second daughter ended with that terrible contrived accent (potato in the mouth) where people continuously look at the mouth but can't recall what she is said.
Note: unless you have context and know the issues that was raised then, you will struggle because he obviously wrote in a style to avoid ruffling feathers.
