Austria: 2017 study warned of Muslim migrant antisemitism in city where Muslim attacked Jewish leader last week

An academic study of Muslim refugees in the southern Austrian city of Graz conducted three years ago warned that the strongly antisemitic views held by half of them were ‘alarming.'” Graz was the same city where a Muslim migrant recently attacked a Jewish leader with a baseball bat.

When Elie Rosen, head of the 150-member Jewish community, left his car, he was attacked by the stranger with a wooden stick and managed to escape back into the car. The attacker hit Rosen’s vehicle with a bat before he fled.

The Graz synagogue was attacked twice over the past week. Last Wednesday, antisemitic pro-Palestinian graffiti was smeared on the building.

The slogan “Free Palestine” was written on the synagogue, a phrase that typically means the elimination of the Jewish state.

This is not unique to Austria. Islamic antisemitism is common in other locations in Europe where significant Muslim migration has taken place. See HERE , HERE and HERE, and there’s a reason for it: normative Islamic doctrine condemns Jews, as should have been apparent to the entire world because of the targeting of Israel since 1948.

“Academic Study Warned of ‘Alarming’ Antisemitism Among Muslim Refugees in Austrian City Where Jewish Leader Was Attacked,” by Ben Cohen, Algemeiner, August 25, 2020:

An academic study of Muslim refugees in the southern Austrian city of Graz conducted three years ago warned that the strongly antisemitic views held by half of them were “alarming.”

The study — by Ednan Aslan, professor of Islamic Religious Education of the University of Vienna — was revisited this week following the attack last Saturday on Elie Rosen, the president of the Jewish community in Graz, by a Syrian Islamist who had been living in Austria since 2013.

Chief Inspector Fritz Grundnig, the police officer heading the investigation into the assailant, described the unnamed man as “filled with hatred of Israel, Jews, gays, lesbians and prostitutes.”

The man was also charged with damaging a Catholic church, an LGBT+ club and a bar in Graz’s red-light district.

Aslan’s survey, conducted in 2017, involved interviews with nearly 300 Muslim refugees who had settled in Graz.

“It was noticeable that more than half had internalized antisemitism as part of their religiosity,” Aslan told the Austrian newspaper Der Standard on Monday. “It was even more suspicious that they were very reluctant to talk about it, and then very cautiously. So one had to take the high [level of] anti-Jewish prejudice all the more seriously.”

The report itself was all the more blunt, stating that the “alarming results of the study regarding antisemitic attitudes are certainly a special challenge for the city of Graz.”

Asked whether Jews had too much influence in the world, 46 percent agreed, with 44 percent also sharing the view that the Jewish religion was “harmful to the world.”

Nearly 55 percent of the refugees interviewed agreed with the statement that Jews “do not care about anyone except themselves.”

The same survey revealed deep intolerance of the LGBT+ community, with 50 percent believing that homosexuality was a sin “deserving of punishment.”

Aslan argued that because antisemitism was a “theological matter” for many Muslims, it was important to establish civic dialogue groups with local Jews, “so that Muslims can correct their ideas and reconsider their prejudices.”

“Through contact with Jews, they could have the experience of engaging with people who, like themselves, may be fathers and mothers, and have the same wishes for their children,” Aslan said. “Now it’s no longer ‘the Jew,’ but Mr. Rosen.”….

they created this whole stupid idea in the 1st place. What goes around comes around. Kind of like Emperor Palpatine kena from Darth Vader.

What was interesting is that religion of peace is probably based on Mohammed trying to keep this stuff from happening. He did actively try to keep different tribes from warring on each other.

Once he's not on this planet, all bets are off. The religion went whatever way the people in charge of it decided. And as you can see today, it's a mess because of the priesthood.

imams, fatwa and sharia law are responsible for the mess , yes you are right.

koran is a assimilated text from multiple sources , so one bad verse can be countered by another good verse. There is a reason why some islamic apologists protested the verses quoted in this forum are out of context.

In singapore tight controlled and softened form of islam, all foreign preachers have to be registered and approved before they are able to fly in. Sinkieland muslims are nicer to kaafirs.

Many known peaceful religions that do no evil to others never claim themselves to be peaceful. Animism is one such religion, very ironical when islam is the known religion of peace. Your chink taoism i would consider as one too.

I think most people in this forum and sinkieland not aware of this. In fact, sinkieland Malays tend to be discriminated unfairly against just because of race. But rest of the world it's the other way around. It's too bad the race identity gets bundled with religious identity.

That's why @syed putra says that too bad Zheng He didn't come with Taoism instead... Matter of fact, very very few really understand Taoism at all.

Taoism means you let things happen naturally. Don't force 6.9 on people. A good thing done in excess becomes bad. Bad thing in excess may be come good so 10 meals better than 6.9? There is good in every bad situation, bad in every good one. Ying yang yang ying. It is philosophy, not religion.

Now bow. Bow before my wisdom.

It probably was zheng he who spread islam in south east asia. The malays saw indian muslims and arabs. But when a chinaman came as muslim too, no need to question.just convert.

Muslim should nuke Israel ASAP.

Dotard is desperately looking for a war to prolong his GAME-OVER presidency.

We should not let him Pick the Place war to begin, we should pick Israel where it hurts the most on Chow Ang Mohs.

This will work very well.

m&ds are excluded from sensitive vocations in the military services not due to race but religion. Chinese muslims and indian muslims sama sama. Malays are 99% muslims, so it always misinterpreted as racial discrimination. Religion discrimination really.

The real racial discrimination is in the private sector employment. Most of the better motivated and work performing m&ds are in government service. Hard to get good ones in the private sector. My friend in the retail sector told me he can employ a malay with less salary he would pay a chinese or india, but he would regret the cost cutting. Malay generally are not as motivated to be success as in getting good grades, climbing up the corporate ladder, expanding from 1 shop to 10 shops or earning more money. One requirement to be successful is working harder and putting in long hours. Some bosses actually prefer pinoys over malay, so the issue is the drive.

My KL m&d friend once told me between a chinese doctor and a malay doctor, he would prefer chinese.
