You people may realize Oppo parties always attract big crowds at the elections rallies !
This is a good thing becos people come from all over the island to support and hear what oppo parties have in their agenda !
Rally is also a platform to carry messages across the audiences !
But if some Oppo members use rallies to glorify themselves , they are wasting their time !
The crowd that come to attend are usually oppo supporters , what about the PAP voters that Oppo parties suppose to attract ? This is the main object ! How to make PAP supporters come to Oppo rallies ! think about it !
PAP rallies hardly attract crowds but they win, there is no mystery , they just win votes ! You may say PAP supporters lose conscience when see some pork money , no need to hear elections speech and stories ! Yes, they may win low quality votes, they still win ! Blaming on GRC is never a wise thing to do !
WP party rally at AMK 2006 was good , the crowd was good, the mood was good, but the crowd was rowdy after the rally.
Those did not attend the rally who hid inside the house might have a different idea that Oppo supporters are potential street protesters .
But to many at the rally, it is fun time to show they hate PAP right !
WP at serangoon stadium was the best-----they said the pledge after the rally and the SG advised crowds to disperse peacefully , pick up rubbish and leave the place in order !
Oppo parties must know that rallies are not for them to glorify their position, they have to use this platform to win votes !
At the rally , tell the voters that winners or losers are the voters, Oppo parties are merely educating the people , tell the voters when they go back home AFTER THE RALLY , talk to their relatives and friends , voting in more oppo parties begins at home, motivate the voters , make them responsible , get them to help out !
If some oppo members are not allowed to go to the stage by law, if you try and stop by plain-cloth police, mass media may make the mockery out of this , and voters will think other wise and vote for PAP again !
At the rallies, you oppo know mass media will TRAIN ON those Oppo members who cannot speak well and telecast on TV for voters to vomit , you see the media curse ? So for those weaker speakers, do your speech training at home , you will improve, but if you have no confidence to speak, then sit back !
When you speak not ill against PAP, the media will find conscience to publish your good points ! After all , if your policy benefits all , why not right !
Always maintain yourselves as speakers, be humble, behave yourselves, and use simple words on stage ! Remember, don’t get personal and swear at PAP people !
All Oppo parties should learn from WP---say the pledge after the rally, this will indirectly inform PAP voters that Oppo supporters love sinkapore truly ! The loud pledge will echo far within HDB blocks !
Always remember, preen yourselves before you go on stage ! Button your shirts and iron straight , if you sweat, it is understandable ! Rid any fidget and be calm . When you are reading on stage, do look at the crowds in their eyes for a few seconds to show you are confident to work with them !
Stage fright can be conquered !
One problem is that elections venue may be muddy , ulu, and dark that given by the police.
Think about it, you oppp parties should know, these PAP people will never be fair to you, nevermind, don’t be angry about it, a place to talk rather than no place to talk right !
In life, you do the dirty things, Someday and somehow , you will get it also ! Even heaven got no eyes, you will have nightmares !
Remember, turn this bad venue into a good opportunity , apologise to the voters that the venue given is bad becos they are many applications and people go by queue number ! Don’t attack PAP or their people !
Oppo parties, winning votes is not only at the rallies, winning votes is now and then before the GE !
Remember, you object is to win votes, focus on the voters, motivate them, encourage them , give them facts and make them think, make them responsible !
Most of all, tell the voters voting is for the voters to participate ! Voting is not about oppo and PAP, it is about you voters !
Once again , rule number 1, don’t attack PAP or make fun at PAP at the rally to entertain the voters ! You have to win new citizens votes if you can ,so be very tactful !
Remember, your supporters waited for 5 years, you have only 9 days to showtime, don’t waste your energy on attacking PAP, Yes, if PAP on the first day of the husting try to gloat and insult you to response, just tell the voters that we have only 9 days, we hope to spend more time with you voters to share ideas and responsibilities !
Hard luck if you respond badly becos if you say something defamatory , you becum agenda of the PAP ! Remember Gomez ? Pls dont, let them fire , it is only 9 days, just ask voters for forgiveness for not responding to PAP !
Pls take good note of this , tell the voters that every bad thing that surfaces is not the fault of PAP, becos voters always think they vote PAP so if things go wrong, they blame PAP !
This is wrong mindset, the chief problem is the voters, becos you voters give mandate to PAP, you people generously give 82 seats to PAP, there is no wrong if PAP wants two casinos , becos you voters vote for it .
So this GE, you voters should consider giving the oppo parties a chance to work with you, a chance to take care of your estates bin centers and drains !
If you oppo members are angry and have personal issues with PAP, and if you think you can shame PAP and settle it at the GE, you are disappointing your supporters , they want you to win PAP voters over and get into the parliament not be a falling hero for the 9 days ! The resultant is you send all the votes on platter to PAP !
May be all Oppo parties should learn from WP ---say the pledge after the rally to show patriotism, however controversial !
Mr Tiu suggests that you people play National Anthem first then follow with the pledge , this will bring the rally to a crescendo before the close !
You have the crowds, be friendly with them, ask them to work with you, spread the words around---give Oppo parties a chance to work with the voters !
If Oppo parties can use beautiful ways to convince the voters that PAP is in no wrong to carry out things the voters don’t like , don’t blame PAP, the main responsibility lies with the voters, you should be able to sway votes !
Remember, a friendly concept at the next GE will win not only Oppo votes, you will win PAP voters and new citizens. Most of all , be sincere, and smile ! A 50.0001 % vote count is a ticket to parliament, this is your bottomline !
