At least 51 killed, including 20 children, as tornado tears through Oklahoma

The tornadoes that swept across Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa were part of a massive, northeastward-moving storm system that stretched from Texas to Minnesota.

Forecasters had been warning for days that the weekend storm system could produce tornadoes, and emergency responders throughout the region were vigilant throughout the weekend as it moved northeastward.
