SMRT says that the female passenger, who was told off for eating on the MRT train by another commuter, has been given a stern warning.

This was in response to STOMPer violettulip's earlier post, where she described how an argument broke out between two male commuters, when one of them told off the other's girlfriend for eating on the train.

In an email sent to STOMP(June 24), SMRT says:

"We refer to the STOMP post “Man tells girl off for eating on MRT but gets challenged by boyfriend” (Jun 20).

"On 20 Jun at around 11.50am, the Emergency Communications Button on a northbound train was activated as two male passengers were arguing on the train.

"Our Station Manager at Yew Tee immediately responded to the alert, and escorted the two parties involved in the dispute out of the train to investigate the matter.

"The argument arose as one male passenger alleged that the female friend of the other male passenger was eating on the train.

"The Station Manager managed to settle the dispute, and the female passenger was given a stern warning not to eat or drink in the system in future.

"We wish to reiterate that eating and drinking is not allowed on our trains. Under the Rapid Transit Systems Regulation, passengers can be fined up to $500 for doing so."

STOMPer Jacky Chen found it ridiculous that a couple brought a dog into the MRT by putting it inside a large carton box.

In an email to STOMP today (June 22), the STOMPer says:

“A couple brought a dog up the MRT by putting it inside a large cardboard box.

"I took off my earphone to listen to them speak, and found that they weren't local.

“Really ridiculous! The dog is however very cute.”

In an email to STOMP today (June 23), an SMRT spokesperson says:

“Under the Rapid Transit Systems regulations, animals including pets and livestock are not allowed in trains, and at any part of the train stations, except for guide dogs accompanying blind persons.

“The public is encouraged to immediately approach station staff for assistance, should they spot someone carrying animals onto trains.”

Depends who you are. If it were CSJ, he would be fined, ISD, and thrown to the mental institution for life. If he resists, they may give him the rope. Come on, this is corrupt Singapore.

what the fuck is wrong with eating and drinking ........?

You heard the joke that in Spore you can't do anything unless its authorised :)

While in HK & Taiwan you can do anything unless its prohibited, and even then you can still do it if you don't get caught :D
