[TD] PM Lee on BBC article about compassion: Good reminder to be more gracious, kind
Singapore | Updated today at 12:59 PM
By David Ee

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has become the latest politician to comment on a recent BBC article in which a British writer wrote that Singapore suffers from a "massive compassion deficit". PM Lee through a Facebook post on Sunday said that the article is "a good reminder" for Singaporeans to be more gracious and kind to others.

Freelance writer Charlotte Ashton, who moved to Singapore last year, had written about her experience on an MRT train when she was pregnant. She wrote how she had felt nauseous and was crouched on the floor for 15 minutes but no one offered her a seat.

"For the first time, Singapore had made me feel unhappy. I had been vulnerable - completely reliant on the kindness of strangers. Singaporeans, I felt, had let me down," she wrote.

=> Does she know that at least 60%, more likely 80% of the commuters are FTrash?

PM Lee wrote that we "need not accept everything" that Ms Ashton had written but added that her article was " still a good reminder to us to be kinder and more gracious to one another". He added that even as the country has made progress in levels of courtesy and kindness over the years, "we can still do much better". "It takes effort from each of us, but it is important and worthwhile," he wrote.

Sorry, but I sincerely think compassion for Singaporeans is confined to the churches and charities. It's everyone guard their B-side in S.inkapore!!

Singapore - the country with the most miserable people on Earth

Even the BBC said so.
All because singaporeans have no balls and voted and voted and voted to be fucked and tiewed and screwed and raped by
smear of shit on sole of shoe and his gang of self serving bastards in PAP aided by their fucking collaborators

Viewpoint: Does Singapore deserve its 'miserable' tag?

Sinkies do not feel like they are at home anymore.
Everywhere you go, you are surrounded by lots of strangers...

Who else to blame? Look at the facts:

1. the PAP govt was negligent in a liberal immigration policy to pursue economic growth at all cost w/o concern and compassion for its citizens - was the govt a model of caring?
2. PAP is supposed to serve all citizens but resorts to party politics in PA, and grassroots and employs dirty tactics to exclude the Opposition - was the govt caring?
3. labour policies and govt rules were tweaked to allow more foreigners in than we can absorb resulting in professionals driving taxis, aunties collecting paper boxes etc - did the govt show any care and compassion?
4. Incentives galore were dangled before billionaires to come to Singapore, but the govt spent peanuts on the poor and socially challenged - was the govt caring?

Can anybody blame us for looking out only for ourselves and our families?

There is a lot of truth in this article about the lack of compassion in Singapore and one has to be put in that position to feel it. I was pushing an ill relative on a wheelchair to the health services in Paragon Centre when I could see that locals (or more correctly, Asians) do not bother to make way for me and my wheelchair based partner. On top of that, they will even hop or quicken their pace to grab the space available in the elevator. Not one person even bothered to hold the lift button while I pushed the wheelchair in. Oh yes, there was one, and that chap happened to be Caucasian. So much for Asian Values. And the location was Paragon Centre, where the rich and glitz shop, they aren't the poor and smelly sorts.

Cheers!

His father is the most gracious person on this earth...why doesn't he tell him to be one....?? no balls!

Even farm animals become stressed and annoyed in a crowded environment, what more for human beings?

Pregnant cows should take a taxi instead of the bus or train.

The thing with most big-boned women (especially Caucasian women) is that you aren't quite sure if they're fat or pregnant, and it would be impolite to ask.

.

No need to criticize the govrnment,,,what singaporean need is come out from the comfort zone and start grow balls

Tat package just shows how irresponsible the pappies r. Spending money for no reason. N it's a waste with no benefits to the target market. If they old n sick u still want them to live forever? Its more a policy to benefit the pharmaceuticals n medical industries.

His so called 8 Billion package for Seniors says it all, get sick to enjoy it.

Even if you want to buy votes you should not target this group. How many will be dead by 2016? Fail as a politician, fail also in common sense

Dear Pinky Lee,

Can you be more gracious and kind yourself by not letting foreign trash taking over our jobs ?
